How to Get Rid of Chest Congestion

Many people report that chest congestion is one of the most painful and uncomfortable feelings you can deal with.

Chest congestion can make it painful to breathe, cause a deep and painful cough, and leave you sleepless night after night.

Usually caused by an infection, chest congestion is your body’s way of trying to get rid of irritants. Use these home remedies for chest congestion to clear up your congestion and feel better right away.

1.Humidifier

A humidifier can keep your mucus membranes moist, allowing them to more effectively get rid of the infection. Using a humidifier can actually make you cough more.

This might seem counterproductive, but the more productive coughing you do the quicker you can get rid of chest congestion.

At a minimum, keep a humidifier running while you are sleeping. If you can, keep one running all day long in whatever room you are in.

2.Gargle

A good gargle is one of the best remedies for chest congestion. It can break up the mucus that causes congestion and get rid of the inflammation that worsens congestion.

  1. Stir 1 teaspoon of salt into 1 cup of warm water until it dissolves.
